With more then a twenty five-year track-record as a successful feature Film Producer and Screenwriter, Stacy Codikow has turned her considerable experience and energy toward giving back to the independent film community. In 2001, Codikow retired from her production company to create the internationally recognized non-profit Film Production Company and Educational Organization, POWER UP - the Professional Organization of Women in Entertainment Reaching Up. POWER UP's mission is to promote the visibility and integration of women and the GLBTQ community in entertainment, the arts and all forms of media while “challenging perception through film.” This is one of POWER UP's greatest accomplishments and gifts.

For Codikow, writing on hit television shows like PROFILER and TWICE IN A LIFETIME and producing successful films such as UNDER THE HULA MOON, FATAL INSTINCT and HOLLYWOOD HEARTBREAK not only earned her a solid reputation in Hollywood, but helped her discover a passion for mentoring and developing first time writers, directors, producers and filmmakers.

With this desire to help nurture the undiscovered talent hidden in Hollywood and her own personal experience earned as a woman in the entertainment industry, the conception of an organization like POWER UP seemed only too natural as a next step in her career.

Serving as Executive Director for POWER UP since its inception, Codikow has tirelessly run the corporation as a full-time volunteer and its biggest financial supporter. Lending her skills, leadership, resources, time and talent, Codikow has helped to educate, nurture and promote some of the best & brightest gay women succeeding in the entertainment business today.

Codikow has Executive Produced all 15 multi award winning films made by POWER UP, including the wildly popular D.E.B.S. and ITTY BITTY TITTY COMMITTEE and, the soon to be released "GIRLTRASH: All Night Long." Codikow has birthed, fostered, fueled and financially sponsored many members dreams and careers through POWER UP's various programs & films.

Codikow received the LACE Award from the LA Gay & Lesbian Center for her contributions to the gay community in an extraordinary way in the field of Arts & Entertainment. She received the Leadership Award from the National Gay & Lesbian Task Force. Codikow has been named on Curve Magazine's list of the “10 Powerful Lesbians in Film & TV;” Go NYC Magazine's list of the “100 Gay Women We Love‚” and Afterellen.com's list of “Top 13 Power Lesbians in Entertainment.”

Codikow is a Los Angeles native and graduate of USC's Film School. She makes her home in the Hollywood Hills.
